What are QR Codes?
QR codes were originally invented in Japan in 1994 by a DensoWave. They were originally invented for tagging car parts during manufacture and trade, QR Codes did not become main stream until much later.
QR Codes are 2D barcodes designed to provide easily accessible data, such as a URL or a web link in a small convenient format. You can store virtually any information in a QR Code such as serial numbers and product descriptions even poems and book extracts. These are tailor made to quickly and easily link to web content on any device with a reader, E.g. any smart phone with the appropriate App, or any Industrial 2D imager.

Using QR Codes
Using QR codes is simple and easy. All that is needed is any smart phone and the appropriate App downloaded from the smart phones market place. These are usually free and simple to use.
Simply open the appropriate App and take a picture, or scan the QR Code. Most Apps will show a box on the screen you have to fit the image of the QR Code into. Once it is lined up simply hit the relevant scan button.
There are also industrial and professional 2D imagers that read QR Codes.
